The GEMS 911 Leadership Institute

The GEMS 911 Leadership Institute was created to strengthen the skills, confidence, and professional readiness of individuals serving families and communities in crisis. Our programs are designed for adult learners who want to grow, advance, and lead within human services, social services, community support, and crisis-response environments. Each program is grounded in real-world practice, trauma-informed approaches, and the core values of compassion, accountability, and service.

Flagship Program

Leadership Institute for Community Crisis Responders

Our flagship program and the first leadership pathway developed by GEMS 911 Services. This advanced-level program supports emerging and established leaders who work in family preservation, crisis intervention, emergency housing, and community-based support roles. The curriculum blends evidence-based leadership training with practical tools for managing teams, navigating high-stress environments, and improving service outcomes.

Management Development Program (MDP)

Designed for new and aspiring managers transitioning from frontline work into leadership positions. Participants learn how to supervise staff, manage caseload flow, communicate effectively, and build healthy team cultures. The program emphasizes the unique challenges of human-services leadership, including burnout prevention, ethical decision-making, and trauma-informed supervision.

For Frontline Workers

Community Support Foundations Program

Prepares frontline workers, case aides, peer support staff, and new hires for success in direct-service roles. This program focuses on core professional skills such as communication, documentation, boundaries, crisis de-escalation, and cultural responsiveness. Offered in a flexible, asynchronous format that allows participants to learn at their own pace.

Virtual Learning Series

Provides monthly live and on-demand training sessions on topics relevant to professionals who support families in crisis. Sessions feature experienced trainers, clinicians, and community leaders who share practical strategies for improving service delivery, strengthening communication, and supporting personal well-being. All sessions are recorded and added to the Virtual Learning Library.
